Movement Practitioner

My movement practice is rooted in my training as a contemporary theatre director, where physical storytelling, ensemble craft, and embodied dramaturgy sit at the heart of my work. I draw on a multidisciplinary toolkit shaped by movement training at Rose Bruford, physical theatre, dance-theatre methodologies, and ongoing exploration into how stories live within the body.

As a movement practitioner and director, I specialise in:

  • Physical storytelling

  • Embodied character development

  • Movement-based devising processes

  • Fabric- and object-led movement exploration, reflecting my artistic interest in textiles and materiality

My training emphasised the dramaturgical function of movement — a focus I now bring into rehearsal rooms and creative processes with youth companies, early-career performers, and multidisciplinary ensembles. I approach movement direction as a responsive collaboration: listening to what performers’ bodies offer and shaping physical language that supports narrative clarity.

I have worked as a movement practitioner across devised work, new writing, youth theatre productions, and multidisciplinary performance, with a practice that adapts fluidly to different ensembles and abilities. Whether developing a physical vocabulary for a new piece or guiding performers toward richer embodied choices, my focus is always on creating movement that is intentional, expressive, and deeply connected to the world of the story.
